Yet another Cape Town Showdown has come to an end... but the memories will remain with us for a lifetime :)
I am of the opinion that this is, quite possibly, the most successful CTS event we have ever run. The hype levels were insane (even for casuals!!!), there were many upsets with quite a few crowd favourites being eliminated early, quite a few new faces, and - perhaps, most importantly - everything ran on time! We had 2 hours to complete each tournament and we were able to get through everything in record time, even completing the finals roughly 2 hours before the end time for the event (10pm).
This would not have been possible without the assistance and support of the community :) I would like to thank:
OGRS, Zombiehunta, Luminous, Zack, O.M.A. Hei-Long, Khan-Khan, PaasHaas, Ilitirit, Skamanke, Ennohex, Chojin, Lindseyboi and Stuyvesant, for helping out with consoles, screens, speakers, multiplugs, leads and games (special thanks to OGRS for the awesome CTS stickers and for helping out with stickers for the consoles, screens, etc and to Jaguguarang for providing additional copies of the tournament games). You guys always have my back and I appreciate it. Much love and respect :)
Zaid, Aamina and the rest of the Genshiken club members, for their unwavering dedication and commitment to this event. You guys went out of your way to assist with my requests, even though you were stressed out of your minds preparing for exams, and for that, I cannot thank you enough. You made my job as TO a lot easier! Thank you so much guys. I hope that this will be the first of many such collaborations between CTS and Genshiken!
Zombie Dredd, for helping out with screens. You came through for me when I was in a pinch. I am forever in your debt. Thanks again bro :)
And last, but definitely not least, the SA fighting game community. Thanks to everyone who came out to support this event. It was unfortunate that some couldn't attend, but real life gets the best of all of us at times, so it can't be helped. That said, thanks to the JHB players, the East London players, the Worcester players and the CT community for attending CTS4 and for making this the best possible fighting game event in Cape Town. Seeing new faces always makes me happy, and I've been informed that some of the new guys will be attending our sessions, so we're definitely making progress when it comes to growing the FGC!
The match footage for each tournament will be uploaded within the week :) Here are the results for each tournament:

Congratulations to Di Lhong, Sunny and Jaguguarang for their respective victories!
I hope to see everyone at CTS5! Until then, please keep training!
Peace
